Worls Open preview - 120kg and 120+kg

The last day of the IPF World Open Powerlifting Championships will showcase the strongest of them all,

the 120kg class and 120+kg class will compete on this last day.

The 120kg class is being lead by 2 x World Open Champion, Oleksiy Rokochiy from Ukraine. Oleksiy won the World Champiosnhips last year in Stavanger, Norway with a World record total of 1075kg.

Oleksiy is also a former European Open Champion.

The Ukrainian will definitely put up an amazing total,

but it will not come easy as the 2012 World Junior Champion Nurlan Yeshmakhanov from Kazakhstan will be on his heals, with an entry weight of 420kg squat and 1070kg total, which is 5kg behind Oleksiy,

it will be one battle to remember!

Most would agree that the lifter that they most wants to see is the leader in the nominations

for the 120+kg class, the man with the BIGGEST total (1200kg) and BIGGEST squat (485kg) in the IPF,

the silent giant from Norway...Carl Yngvar Christensen! Carl is a former 2 x European Open Champion and

World Junior Champion, the last 2 World Open Championships Carl was always on the final total podium,

but never on the top. will he take the most prestigious title in powerlifting here in Denver, Colorado...
